Over the first year . . .

My favourite tasks of the first year . . .
I have really enjoyed creating a website; I like the freedom of being independent with the work. Another task I really enjoyed was the fake profile (Angelica Brooke) this task was fun and unpredictable and was interesting to see other what other groups come up with. The museum project was another favourite of mine as I liked the creativity aspect, being able to pitch and idea is a lot of fun.

Blogging as a whole . . .

Blogging my option
At the beginning of semester one I did not enjoy blogging, mostly because I didn’t know what was expected although now it has grown on me.  I see the blog as an archive of our work and exactly how I felt at the time of. A lot of people may find it more beneficial to blog every few days me personally I like to leave Blogging for a while and do four of five blogs at a time. Looking back at my blog I am able to remind myself of elements of the course I may have forgotten about which I like.  Also the blog is useful documenting and linking other work all to one easy accessible place which I really like as I don’t like when my work is all over the place and it is a lot more confusing. Another element of blogging I find good is the format of text can be a little less formal and more relaxed.

Last Film . . . Problem

Our last short film was all about bulling in schools. The idea of the film I believed to be strong and quite diverse. The original idea was to go into a school which I and other team member Carlie Ann Wright had attended and film a teacher that had been bullied and is now a successful teacher. We had arranged a meeting in the school to discuss our film, all seemed fine. One the day of filming I got a text of a forma teacher saying we were unable to go into the school that say due to a teacher being ill. The second time we went to attend the school to film we went in to cheek everything was ok and we were able to film. Although there was another problem we were told that due to legal reasons filming children, teachers or anything on the grounds of the school was not allowed on such short notice. This was a big problem although we improvised we decided to use a voice recorder to get sound footage of a teacher and a mentor talking. Then we also got a drama student to agree to be filmed and speak about bulling etc.

Angelica Brooke Facebook Blocked !

When time to present our character Angelica Brooke and our online tools used to bring to live Angelica, our Facebook account was blocked! When talking with other class members other groups who created a Facebook account for their character, the same incident occurred.

Angelica Brooke Youtube

YouTube

The YouTube account created gave an insight to what Angelica liked to watch including music, film and TV.  YouTube was a fun tool to use for Angelica Brookes character as was able to like videos, comment and add to favourites. Using YouTube is almost like an archive oh what video interests a person has, this was an easy was to show the characters personality.

Angelica Brooke Twitter

Twitter

The Twitter account we created for Angelica Brooke was a good tool to help Angelica to connect with high status celebrities to help her gain contact with a certain social circle. By following certain twitter accounts such as Kim Kardasion and Paris Hilton it gives the illusion of Angelica being involved with the social loop she desperately desires.

Angelica Brooke Facebook

Facebook

The way in which we decided to make our character part of the social networking world was to create a Facebook account, Twitter account, YouTube account and a Blog via Blogger, all of which were used in the correct manner and helped Angelica Brooke become realistic. The Facebook account helped us interact with other people that we believed Angelica Brooke wanted to socialise with such as people from the California area. Also via Facebook Angelica Brooke received inbox messages from people of the California area which made the character seem real. We had to inbox via Facebook to the person that Angelica Brooke is a made up character for ethical reasons.

Angelica Brooke . . .

The character profile work was a lot of fun. Our group designed our character to be a young girl named Angelica Brooke; she is from California and is seen as a stereotypical rich, spoiled American girl.

Editing images . . .

Editing images I really enjoy, being able to play around with colour, contrast, size and effects.

Website Design . . .

Website Design

The design part of creating a website is definitely something I enjoy. I like the freedom to be able to design the whole page myself and have my own person touch on the work. Also I enjoy the independent aspect of the website, being able to do the work when I want and how I like.

The design I have gone for within this website its quite plain with a slight splash of colour as I didn’t want it to seem to plan and simple. All the pages within the website have the same design although each page has a slight colour alteration, which I think gives a nice effect.

Visiting the museum ...

Visiting the museum was interesting and we were able to gather evidence and research, the museum gave us inspiration and ideas for our presentation, images were taken and also we picked up leaflets etc.

Museum Project . . .

Stage One Ideas
Within Creativity and concept we were asked to design a product/ tourist attraction for Liverpool’s Museum. Our group chose foreign tourists. There were various ideas for the subject of foreign tourist which where all rather comparable. Our group discussed what we though was the most significant aspect of the ‘product’ which we believed was giving the tourists the best possible experience.
Ideas where discussed, our first thought was to have holograms in the museum that were able to translate to each tourist type. The idea was inspired from the Yorkshire dungeons which also have holograms. This idea then expanded into having the holograms be based on famous Liverpool people such as The Beatles members.

Wiki Social Networking

Personally i do not like creating a Wiki, but we have been asked to do a second one based on social networking my category is democracy within social networking. As i do not believe we have been tough enough on the subject i found this task quite a drag and boring.

Six Thinking Hats . . .

when we were introduced to Ed De Bonos six thinking hats technique, i understudied the aim and the reason for the hats etc although i found them very restrictive to impulsive thinking which i am definitely a impulsive thinking and when wearing a particular hat i was not able to add ideas and thoughts without pulling back and thinking is this what this hat represents ? i think having the different colours for each thinking type is a good idea and when thinking of ideas each colour should be taking into consideration although giving each person only one colour is not very effective.

Its Liverpool . . . Football its in the Blood

Our second film we made was called Its Liverpool, this project was allot of fun, as the film was about Liverpool our group come up with a variety of ideas and subjects that were all interesting, the use of the Albet Dock was a popular idea although as this is a very popular location and we knew allot of other groups may film at the Docks we decided to film at Anflid Liverpool's ground, this was definitely in our favour as we got some great footage although the film is dark due to the time of the match and when we wanted to get footage it looks really effective, personally the darkness of the film adds dramatic effect as this is how football in the city is it definitely captures the accurate atmosphere. As an overall the film was marked a 2.1.

Google Mapping . . .

we were asked to create a story using the tool Goggle Map each group was giving a location based in Mersyside my group were given the Antony Gormley status which are located at Crosby Merna. There was many different ideas developed from this location our final idea was status from around the world which stud out to us and created its own personal story, our theme was "finding there way back home."
